Olivia Newton-John Dies at Age 73

America has lost another sweetheart.
Olivia Newton-John, most famously known for her role as Sandy in the 1978 movie classic Grease, has passed away at age 73.
Her husband, John Easterling, announced her death on Instagram Aug. 8. The couple married in 2008.
Easterly noted in his post how Newton-John has been a symbol of triumph and hope for over 30 years as she shared her breast cancer journey.
“Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer,” he said.
“In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation.”
The singer and actress died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 8, at the age of 73, at her ranch in southern California, surrounded by family and friends.
